that feeling when knee surgery is tomorrow

today I am writing to you from the interface station where I work. behind me is the robotics floor, hundreds of machines carrying thousands of shelves in some sort of indecipherable waltz. they carry the shelves up to my ladder, I put my items on the shelf, and then send it away back where it came. today there are a lot of shoes and a lot of clothes, so the shelves they bring me are mostly the bigger type that can hold boxes. others take the boxes off the shelves when they are sold. there are engeneers to repair the machines, and minders who watch them while they dance to be sure that they keep rhythym. these minders, we call them amnesty, have a special vest, the crbrs device, to make sure the machines can see them. they weren't designed to see people normally, and if anyone without amnesty were to step on to the robotics floor they would be rammed and crushed and maimed by tons and tons of metal and product. the robot responsible would report an obstacle, and the amnesty man sent to handle it would find the body. if a machine were to kill someone in this manner, do you think it would be retired? there are plenty in the docks to spare, but robots are expensive. a stower only costs their day's wage.

enough of the worker's lament, though. how base, how overplayed! whenever I write I feel overplayed, insistent upon my own words like the godfather (that's a family guy reference. peter griffin. if you know you know ;)) and even self-referentialism such as this, in fact especially this, is so deplorable! what do you do with a self-referentialist but smile and nod, inside yourself scoffing and begging for it to end? every self-referentialist should be battered with a broom until such time as they learn sincerity!

among the monotheist debateniks a thought is commonly seen, that no matter how much good faith be present, it is impossible to discuss theology with an atheist. not for any ill will or derision on the part of either group, but for the fact that what one group holds as an immutable truth, the other can only suppose upon for the sake of argument.
